Details for Berlin's Women's March
The March in Berlin will begin at 1:00 p.m. (13:00). Location has not been announced, but you can check their event page linked above for more details.
The issues faced by women and marginalized societies are not solely experienced in the US or developing countries. The issues are worldwide. Women and girls everywhere are subjected to incomprehensible forms of violence and abuse. Race, creed, religion, gender, and sexuality are methods where the most vulnerable and marginalized people are oppressed. Held back. Ridiculed. The past election has 'normalized' hate speech, xenophobia, racism, and violence around the world. Other countries have become empowered by anger and division. They have become empowered by trying to take away our collective power.
The rhetoric of the past election cycle has insulted, demonized, and threatened many people around the world. Immigrants of all statuses, Muslims and those of diverse religious faiths, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Native people, Black and Brown people, people with disabilities, survivors of sexual assault and violence are scared and hurt. We are confronted with the question of how to move forward in the face of national and international concern and fear.
In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women's rights are human rights.
We support the advocacy and resistance movements that reflect our multiple and intersecting identities. We call on all defenders of human rights to join us. This march is the first step towards unifying our communities, grounded in new relationships, to create change from the grassroots level up. We will not rest until women have parity and equity at all levels of leadership in society. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all.

"The Women’s March is not a protest but rather a collective voice seeking freedom, decency and justice. The March in Frankfurt , Germany is being held in solidarity with the Women's March on Washington , and other marches around the world, on the same day. People of all ages, genders, nationalities, races, and creeds are welcome to march with us!
If you are part of (or know of) an organization that would like to be represented, bring your signs and information. The bottom line is, strength in numbers sends a clear message that we stand united, and that we are not as divided as the past year would lead us to think.
Hope to see you on the 21st!
